The Propeller Club, Port of Boston celebrated Maritime Day with its annual luncheon at Legal Sea Foods Harborside, graciously sponsored by Eastern Salt Company, Inc.
Speaker Rear Admiral Francis McDonald, President of Massachusetts Maritime Academy, delivered an engaging speech on the importance of maritime academies across all sectors of this industry. The luncheon concluded with COPT Jamie Frederick presenting Capt. Robert Blair with the USCG Certificate of Merit in recognition of his notable services in furthering the aims and functions of the USCG. Eight Student Port members from Massachusetts Maritime Academy attended the event, along with their Student Port Advisor, LT Sara Kazamias.
Also, at the event, former The Propeller Club, Port of Boston President, Capt. William Potter, was honored as Person of the Year for his decades of service to the Port of Boston and to the Club.
